C2Snet is a centre for multidisciplinary research where computing power is channeled towards solving various developmental problems confronting humanities. Researchers from different backgrounds like Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Agriculture, Medicine, Mathematics and Computer Science will collaborate on research that will foster development and propel us in actualising the UN SDG goals.
Computational research has become the way to go in modern-day research and it has gradually permeated various domains of research from humanity to social sciences as well as sciences and Engineering. However, the level of awareness and involvement as far as Computational research is concerned in this part of the World is very low. Most researchers are still dogmatically attached to the old and conventional ways of research while totally ignoring the enormous potentials in data driven research and Computational power.
Various research breakthroughs have been recorded using Artificial Intelligence through Machine Learning approaches to address societal problems in the last few years. More so, the level of awareness at secondary (college) school level is nothing to write home about. It is in the view of the highlighted challenges that a Centre for Computational Science Network (C2SN) was conceived to bridge the gap identified above through awareness campaigns, training, collaborative and cross-border research and networking..
